WebSMS

HSL's WebSMS solution allows the sending and receiving of text messages (SMS) through a regular web browser with a dedicated login page and service site. This solution is easy to use and requires no technical preparation or experience.

Sending a message with WebSMS to a mobile phone using a normal web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox is simple and quick. To send a message to a mobile phone clients simply login to the secure WebSMS site, enter the mobile telephone number and message and then click "Send". The message then arrives on the mobile phone in around 6 seconds subject to the mobile phone being available. A similar process is followed if you wish to send to contacts in a phonebook or distribution list.

The following are some of the features of this solution*:

  • Send messages using a standard web browser
  • Send message to a single mobile phone or a distribution list
  • Files containing mobile numbers and messages can be uploaded and messages can therefore be sent in bulk
  • Distribution lists can be uploaded
  • Messages received, either as replies or new messages, can be viewed
  • Status of sent messages can be viewed and reports downloaded
  • Secure login to site

The HSL WebSMS Solution brochure provides further details and screenshots of this service.

The WebSMS solution can be used for either one-way messaging (i.e. simply sending messages) or two-way messaging (both sending and receiving messages). When applying for service the appropriate option should be selected on the application form.
